Michael Le Vell, the actor who plays Coronation Street’s Kevin Webster, appeared on court today for 19 charges of sexual assault. Le Vell pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The Corrie star denied the charges which included raping a child, indecently assaulting a child, and sexual activity with a child. The actor appeared in Manchester Crown Court this afternoon.
The star only spoke to the court room to deny all the charges which were read to him. Le Vell appeared under his real name, Michael Turner.
The allegations all refer to one complainant and cover a period between 2001 and 2010. The alleged victim will be apparently giving evidence during the trial.
Le Vell was released on continued bail, has been asked not to contact witnesses and surrender his passport.
His trial will take place on the 2nd of September.
Le Vell has been suspended from Coronation Street pending the outcome of the trial.
