Meghan Markle’s second assistant quits after refusing to take on permanent role

Oh dear.

It looks like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are finding it hard to pin down royal aides as Samantha Cohen, the private secretary to the royal pair will step down in spring after refusing to take on the position permanently. This news follows on from the departure of Meghan's personal assistant, Melissa Touabti, who stepped down six months after the royal wedding. Fuelling the rumours that Meghan is "difficult" to work with, it looks like both these positions will now have to be filled by candidates who are "adaptable and patient", as well as aware of Meghan's early morning routine and demanding schedule - reports an insider to The Sunday Times.

Meghan's day often starts as early as 4:30am, when she wakes up to do yoga to "heal the mind" and so, needs someone who is willing and eager to follow suit. News of Samantha Cohen stepping down came as a shock to the palace, as the Australian has worked closely to the family for the past 17 years. Ms Cohen reportedly stepped into the role she is now set to leave at the request of Harry and Meghan, however, it wasn't meant to be.

Ms Cohen, who is a mother-of-three, is held in high regard by all in the palace and know as "the panther" within inner circles for her "feisty attitude" and willingness to get the job done. It is still unknown as to who will replace her but we can be sure the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be set to take on new staff as they welcome their first child in spring 2019.
