Meghan Markle has just jetted off to New York for a very special reason

How exciting!

As we all know, the lovely Meghan Markle is due her first baby in April of this year. She married Prince Harry in May 2018, and it has been a world wind ever since. But it looks like, despite all the fame and wealth, Meghan still has time for her friends. In fact, the Duchess of Sussex has just jetted off to New York to spend time with her close pals. And rumour has it, they're set to throw Meghan a baby shower - something that members of the royal family don't do. Meghan arrived in NYC on Friday, and has so far spent time with her best friend Jessica Mulroney. The gal pals went to Ladurée for tea and macarons. Gorge. In fact, the spot is a favourite of Meghan's, who spoke about the venue in an interview a few years back.

"I love Ladurée in SoHo. It’s like a little slice of Paris in the middle of New York City."

"It is absolutely beautiful, and the courtyard is awesome,"she added.

"Everyone should get the Coupe SoHo, which is this amazing salted caramel ice cream. It’s delicious!"

Jessica lives in Canada, but she reportedly arrived in New York late last week to film some style segments for Good Morning America.

Last night, Meghan was spotted getting out of an SUV to attend a babyshower thrown by her friends.

The soon-to-be mother-of-one appeared to be going out of her way to remain incognito, wearing all black and keeping her head lowered.

Not her usual carry on, but we really don't blame her.
