She interviewed Serena Williams, Mindy Kaling, and Mariah Carey on the podcast.
Sources have claimed Meghan Markle pretended to conduct interviews for her podcast Archetypes.
The Duchess of Sussex allegedly had members of staff record interviews and then had her voice edited into the episodes to make it seem like she was conducting the interview.
According to Podnews, “Multiple sources said some interviews on the show were done by other staffers, with questions edited in afterward.”
It is not known what interviews were conducted by members of staff. Meghan did conduct one interview for certain because her guest and actress Mindy Kaling posted a photo of them in the studio together.
However, Meghan’s ‘interview’ with journalist Allison Yarrow wasn’t conducted by the former actress.
Yarrow confirmed she didn’t speak to Meghan Markle at all, but actually spoke to a producer named Farrah Safari. She referred to her as “an excellent interviewer”.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the couple received a $20 million deal with the audio company in 2020 to produce the podcast. However, a source close to the platform said they didn’t meet the productivity needed to merit the spending.
Earlier this month, Spotify and the couple “mutually agreed to part ways”.
