Maura Higgins is living most people’s worst nightmare – but on camera.
The reality star is set to have an on-screen reunion with her ex-boyfriend, Curtis Pritchard, on the new show Love Island Games.
The programme will stream six days a week and with Maura working as the social media ambassador, so she’s bound to run into her ex a few times.
Though it will probably be awkward at first, the Longford native has experience after taking on the same role on the fifth season of Love Island USA earlier this year.
Maura and Curtis met on Love Island in 2019 but they weren’t originally paired up – still they got close after he broke it off with Amy Hart.
Things seemed to be going well between the pair as they stayed together for a period of time before things went pear-shaped.
Curtis was hit with cheating rumours at the beginning of 2020 and Maura announced they had separated in March of that same year.
Their break up was anything but amicable as he ended up making many disgusting comments about her including when he compared her to a dog in heat.
No doubt everyone will be watching all their interactions closely to see if things are awkward between the former couple.
The new series will see past contestants from different versions of the show across the globe – in the UK, US, Australia and beyond – come together for “a second shot at love” as they compete in a brand-new format to be crowned champions of Love Island Games.
Some familiar faces flying out to Fiji include Georgia Steel, Jack Fowler, Eyal Booker, former Shelbourne FC footballer Scott van-der-Sluis, Megan Barton-Hanson, Mike Boateng, Liberty Poole and Toby Aromolaran.
The spin-off will be presented by Love Island UK host Maya Jama with Iain Stirling returning as commentator.
