Marty We Moustache You A Question: How Does It Feel To Have The Most Desirable ‘Tache In Ireland?

Ah, Marty Whelan. You and your ‘tache have been knocking around RTÉ since before the Her.ie girls were even born and although many may admire your broadcasting skills it seems most of us are just in awe of your famous lip ‘fro which has stood by your side through thick and thin.

Perhaps the most passionate member of your mustache’s fan club is rugby star Jamie Heaslip, who has today come out and said that you are his inspiration this Movember.

According to The Irish Independent, Jamie has been doing a lot of yapping about your most defining characteristic, Marty, and rumour has it he’s even printed out some posters on his computer to bring to the next fan meeting.

“Marty Whelan is sort of the ultimate moustache mentor in Ireland.

“He’s has his for years – he’s like the godfather of Irish moustaches,” said Jamie.

But Marty, Jamie is not only a fan of home grown Irish mustaches and he revealed you have some stiff Hollywood competition in the facial fuzz department.

“I also think Ron Burgundy from Anchorman has a great moustache,” the Ireland player said.

“And Tom Selleck is the obvious one; he’s a bit of a legend.

“Those three would probably be my moustache heroes.”

Although Jamie’s mustache is nowhere near as perfect as yours Marty, he says it is really helping him score points with the ladies.

“It’s definitely a conversation starter,” said Jamie.

“It gets people talking. They want to know why you’re growing it. Like I said, it definitely breaks the ice.”

So far this Movember, Jamie has been wining and dining his ‘tache in his new Dublin restaurant Bear where the two have been tucking into some quality candlelit dinners.

Heaslip’s new business partner Joe Macken, who also owns Crackbird and Jo’Burger in the city, is reportedly very jealous.
