The McFly musician, 38, has been married to his wife Georgia Horsley since 2014 but appeared to kiss Love Island's Higgins at Universal Music's party over the weekend.
The pair spent the night together at the bash, with onlookers then filming them appearing to lock lips around 3 am.
Higgins is single after her recent split from The Only Way is Essex star Pete Wicks and was said to be having a great time with Jones before they shared a 'brief drunken kiss'.
A source told The Sun: "Danny and Maura seem to have a close friendship after meeting in the jungle. They were talking and laughing for ages."
The pair were sat at different tables during the Brits, held at the O2 Arena on Saturday night, before meeting up at the after-party at 180 Studios on The Strand in central London.
Jones had attended the party with McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher before Higgins joined him and, according to The Sun, spent approximately 90 minutes with the musician.
They were seen chatting with their campmate Oti Mabuse before they were pictured sharing the kiss at 3 am in the foyer. They then went on to Sony's after-party at the Nobu Hotel.
The source added: "Inside the party, it appeared to be just the two of them. The night was winding down as it was so early in the morning, and a lot had gone home."
Jones has been married to the former Miss England for over a decade, and the pair share son Cooper, age 5.
Higgins and Wicks went through months of dating rumours before sources close to the pair confirmed they had decided they were better off as friends.
"There have been a few clashes, and it was eventually agreed they were better off as friends," a source told MailOnline.
"Those closest to them know it’s been a very on-and-off relationship, which is why they were so resistant to go public in the first place. They remain close and share a deep connection."
