Move over Prince George, Kate’s puppy Lupo is set to be a big name in the Royal household. The adorable cocker spaniel is set to become a fictional hero with the release of a children’s book series.
The books have been penned by author Aby King, who takes her own cocker spaniel Lilly for walks in Kensington Gardens close to the palace. She reveals she was wondering what adventures a royal dog might get up to, and decided to pen the series based on ideas of secret tunnels and family mysteries:
Over the next few months, the idea never strayed far from my mind. I began to see the scope for mystery and adventure – secret passageways and tunnels in royal palaces, portals to other times.”
The first book, ‘Lupo and The Secrets of Windsor Castle’ follows Lupo’s adventures when he summons up all his courage, tackling treachery and deception after being accused of a crime he hasn’t committed. The little fella even comes to blows with a “dastardly corgi” called Vulcan in the tale.
As if we ever had any doubt Lupo was a star. Just look at that little face.
