Love Island’s Megan Barton Hanson is receiving backlash online for her festival hairstyle

Megan Barton Hanson has sparked some controversy online for her recent choice of hairstyle.

While attending Reading festival in the UK alongside boyfriend and Love Island co-star, Wes Nelson, it appears fans are not impressed with the star's choice of "inappropriate" hairstyle for the festival specifically. Showcasing her new 'do, which features tight, cornrow-style braids with added hair extensions plaited in, many took to social media to comment on how they found her hairstyle offensive.

While others took to Instagram comments writing:

"Love Island's Megan is appropriating black culture on the gram..."

And...

"Are the cornrows making her stick the tongue out? So not cool."

And Megan isn't the first celeb to enter hot water for this type of hairstlye, Kim Kardashian has too had her fair share of backlash for choosing to braid her hair in a similar way. Megan has yet to comment on the hairstyle, taking to Instagram last night to share an image with Post Malone from the festival and show gratitude to her other-half, Wes. She wrote:

"Who would have thought a couple months ago, I would have met the love of my life @wes.nelson on a TV show. ❤️Then get to experience so many mad things together!"

Wes too shared a similar status.
