Love Island’s Ellie posted an emotional statement about her relationship with Charlie

"By no means am I saying I was the perfect girlfriend..."

Love Island's Ellie Brown has finally broken her silence one week after splitting from boyfriend and TV co-star, Charlie Brake. Charlie, who announced their split on Tuesday of last week took to Instagram to say:

"Just to inform you all, Ellie and I have decided to part ways. I wish her all the best."

The split came as a shock to fans who believed the couple was moving from strength to strength, having just arrived home from a skiing trip in Gstaad - however, it appears all was not as it seemed. And now, a week after breaking the news, Ellie has released a statement about the breakup. Posting a note to her Instagram story, the 23-year-old said:

"I am trying to deal with this as best and as quietly as possible but it is hard..."

Continuing the star said:

"By no means am I saying I was the perfect girlfriend but I adored Charlie from the bottom of my heart and he knows that."

The islander then continued to say that she's aware everyone is waiting for a comment from her but she just doesn't know what to say. This post follows rumours that the breakup was caused by Charlie cheating on Ellie however, neither of them has confirmed or denied this.
