Ireland’s favourite presenter Miriam O’Callaghan revealed that BBC bosses want her to return to English screens and she is considering her options.
The Prime Time presenter worked with BBC’s programme Newsnight early in her career.
According to The Irish Sun, the 50 year old blonde said: “It’s an open secret that I often get invited to go back because all the people that now run the BBC worked with me on Newsnight – myself and Steve, my husband.
Miriam worked on BBC’s Newsnight earlier in her career. The show is presented by Jeremy Paxman.
“I do a regular show and Radio 4 is very similar to Radio One and they listen to everything,” she said.
Although Miriam does not feel the desire to leave Ireland just yet, she is keen to keep her options open.
Miriam said: “I have eight children, I have a busy job here and I don’t love the lure – I haven’t said no forever to them.
“I actually love my job, I’m not really looking for stuff elsewhere.”
The presenter is one of RTÉ’s biggest earners, raking in €300,000 per year but she said money is not a draw for her.
“It’s not about the money, it really isn’t. When people do approach me, I always say I’m not saying never, I’m just saying not now.
“My youngest child is six and he likes me in my bed every night, I like to be in my bed every night,” said Miriam.
Miriam realises how good she has it with our national broadcaster.

“I lucky. I have a good job. I spend all of my income on childcare, that is the truth.
“But it enables me to do what I love and it means my kids are very happy.
“I’m incredible privileged – I worked really hard. I had a free education. I did not have a privileged upbringing and I worked my butt off.
“I’ve a very good job and I’m incredibly well paid. I’m truly grateful.
“But no. Compared to people in this country who have no jobs, who can barely put food on the table, I know I am very lucky and that’s why I am grateful everyday,” she finished.
