She wrote: "If you see marketing posts for a new weight loss pill called 'Figur' stating that Lorraine Kelly owns the business & shed 1st in 1 week... @lorrainekelly has confirmed it's utter crap. She's always advocated healthy eating and exercise as the route to staying a healthy weight."
Another fan pointed out that similar accounts use the image and make claims about Martin Lewis and Deborah Meaden as part of financial scams.
A fifth fan said Lorraine was "quite right" to report the tweet and to seek legal advice.
He said: "I thought originally it wasn't genuine. What cheek. Set your lawyers on 'em."
Another suggested that the account was using photos of celebrities to push "dodgy schemes".
