Cheryl Cole hasn’t had the best experience of marriage, what with her ex-husband Ashley Cole’s shenanigans, but it seems that it hasn’t put her off tying the knot again.
Rumours have it the Girls Aloud star will be on her way down the aisle very soon as her beau Tre Holloway has asked her father Garry for her hand in marriage.
According to The Mirror the smitten dancer phoned Cheryl’s dad asking his permission to pop the question to the singer and he, unlike her mum, gave his blessing.
Cheryl has been married before, to footballer Ashley Cole, but it didn’t end well.
Although we won’t be buying our hats just yet as he also told Tre to wait a little while longer through fears that his daughter will get hurt again.
But that hasn’t stopped him from planning the sparkler which he wants to include a pearl (Cheryl’s birthstone – how romantic).
A source told the newspaper: “She’s always said that although Ashley’s £100,000 ring was the most expensive jewellery she’d ever owned, she’d rather have had a £100 one and a happy marriage.” (We reckon the Chelsea star deserved that dig!)
The singer and Tre revealed they were dating last year.
And it seems that the Fight For This Love songstress isn’t exactly in the dark about the whole thing as the insider explained.
“Tre and her have been discussing marriage for the past couple of months now. They know they want to be together and she’s desperate to start a family – especially as she turns 30 this year.
“Cheryl told Tre over Christmas that she was starting to think about marrying again, something she never thought she’d contemplate after her divorce from Ashley.”
So we could end up with a wedding and the pitter patter of tiny feet from the Geordie star in the not-too-distant future!
