The silverware is being polished and the red carpet has been rolled out as Limerick prepares to welcome Bill Clinton, the silver fox we can’t help but harbour a soft spot for.
The former president is finally finished hugging babies and rallying for his friend Barack and will arrive at the University of Limerick on Saturday to celebrate JP McManus’ 32-county scholarship.
Mr Clinton will party with 600 guests after presenting 125 scholarships to teenagers to fund their undergraduate education.

Unlucky for JP, Clinton’s visit clashes with a very important event in the world of racing.
According to The Irish Examiner he said: “He [Clinton] was given a few days that would work for us, so he picked November 17, which clashes with the Paddy Power meeting at Cheltenham.
“I said to myself: ‘Why did I include that date?’ But to work for him, it had to be that [date]. He’s in Europe, flying around, and this is an extra pit stop,” said JP.
JP McManus will miss an important race meet to hang out with Bill
However, as one of the most sought after speakers in the world, even McManus found it difficult to get a hold of Bill.
“I did it with the help of friends,” he said.
“I got a friend of mine to make an inquiry. He was given a few days that would work for us and he picked November 17.”
This is not Bill’s first time visiting Limerick as he addressed 40,000 people on O’Connell Street during a 1998 visit.
Her.ie is tempted to zip on down to Limerick to catch a glimpse of the man himself.
We’re sure Bill would only love to buy us a pint in the college bar, The Stables!
