Ronan Keating has been banging on about how he’s over his wife Yvonne but today he’s revealed how she has truly broken his heart.

The Boyzone star said he has “broken down” and had times where he “had to retreat” following their break-up in April.

Ronan rocked his marriage when his affair with Boyzone dancer Francine Cornell was exposed after Yvonne found text messages in Ronan’s secret phone.

Ronan said the past three years have been beyond stressful.

“I’ve broken down and I’ve had times where I’ve had to retreat.

“The amount of stress I’ve dealt with over the past few years is a terrible thing and it makes you sick.

“I’m only human and I’ve failed at certain things and I’ve learned a lot and I’ve been through the things I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy,” he revealed.

Despite Ronan’s heartbreak, it seems his ex-wife Yvonne hasn’t had any trouble finding a new man to cuddle up to.

The blonde has been seeing cameraman John Conroy for a number of months and hasn’t laid eyes on Ronan since early this year.

However, the turmoil of the past few years has inspired Ronan to approach life with his rose-tinted glasses firmly in place.

“I’ve learned so much and grown so much in the past few years that I now know that happiness is everything I strive for because it affects so many things,” he said.

“Next year will mark my 20th anniversary in the music industry and for me to still be here and enjoying what I do is a real accomplishment. I feel lucky to have lasted this long,” he gushed.

The singer’s latest album ‘Fires’ will be released next week but Her.ie isn’t sure we’re up for listening to Ronan’s anguish.
