Leona Lewis Has the Snooze-Factor But We Wish She Would Just Embrace It

When we think of Leona Lewis our thoughts usually involve a long flowing dress, a foggy X Factor stage, a powerful ballad and a clapping Simon Cowell but lately poor old Leona has been unsuccessfully trying to convince us that she’s actually interesting.

Last weekend, in an interview with Fabulous magazine, Leona revealed that she ‘could have turned out like Amy [Winehouse],’ who tragically died in 2011.

“It would probably have been very easy for me to have been like Amy,” she said.

“I’m a Hackney girl. I can handle myself. If I was in a club and someone pulled a gun, I would stay calm because it’s not out of my world.
“I grew up having to be streetwise, having to know how to handle myself.”

As if that wasn’t enough of an out of this world comparison, Leona is now harping on about how she loves a good ‘rave’.

The singer, who performed her latest snoozey single Trouble on Sunday’s X Factor told The Sun that she is the party animal of her group and is always the first one to suggest a night on the town and to bust a move on the dance floor.

“I love a rave.

“I’m the first of my mates to hit the dance floor and drag everyone else on. I’m always throwing shapes,” she said.

Is Leona trying to be someone she’s not?

At Her.ie, we don’t think we’ve heard a party being referred to as a ‘rave’ anywhere other than in bad movies from the Nineties.

Are we the only ones frustrated with Leona’s strives to make herself seem more edgy?

We have never thought that she seemed like much craic as her realms of conversation don’t really stretch farther than ‘Yes’, ‘No’, ‘Thank You’ before she flashes a heartwarming smile towards Simon Cowell.

Maybe Leona should just drop the act and admit that she loves nothing more than spending a Saturday night in her slippers sobbing over a romantic drama.

It would be more endearing than pretending she is somebody else.
