Lauren Richardson has penned an open letter to Perrie Edwards in an effort to “set the record straight.”
The 26-year-old was pictured with Perrie’s fiancé Zayn Malik in Thailand recently and speculation swirled that the photograph had something to do with his decision to leave One Direction.
Lauren was pictured with Zayn just before he left the band.
Although it seems the debacle is now water under the bridge for loved-up Perrie and Zayn, Lauren has penned an open letter to the Little Mix singer in Reveal magazine.
Insisting that nothing happened between her and Zayn, the Love Island star explains how they met in a club and she asked for an “innocent” snap with the former One Direction member.
She said: “I didn’t even fancy him, he’s not my type and he’s too young for me – I’m 26!”
The couple got engaged in August 2013.
Referring to the photograph of them holding hands, Lauren explains that it was taken out of context.
She wrote: “When we left the club, there were people trying to grab us girls to get us to go into other places and I don’t like people touching me so I had a little wobble.
“All Zayn did was grab my hand and say, ‘Are you OK?’ After that, I got loads of death threats.”

Lauren also revealed that she received hate mail and had to jump over a fence to escape angry fans after the images were published.
She emphasised that she never posted the pictures for fame or money and that she has turned down numerous lucrative offers to sell her story.
