Kim Kardashian is under fire for straightening five-year-old North’s hair

This was always going to happen.

All celebrity parents who choose to share their family lives with their fans leave themselves open to criticism from the public and there's no better example of this than Kim Kardashian and her siblings. The next generation of Kardashian-West-Jenner-Disicks are growing up under a spotlight and, for right or wrong, those watching will always have something to say. This week Kim has come under fire for appearing to straighten her daughter North's hair. A number of new photos of North, who turned five this week, show her with straight hair.

It came as a surprise to many as Kim has been open about North loving her naturally curly hair and even got lessons on how to braid black hair on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. A number of fans commented that Kim should leave North's hair natural as she's so young while others said that she should be teaching North to embrace her curls.

Random opinion: I hate that Kim straightens North’s hair. She’s a mixed child and she should embrace her natural hair. Idk If I have a mixed child I would want them to embrace their natural hair and not fall under the pressure of having to have “straight” hair to look nice.

Of course, this isn't the first time Kim has been criticised for the way her daughter looks. She's previously been hit out at for piercing the little girl's ears while some even claimed that Kim had North's eyebrows shaped as a baby.
