Singer Kelis’ husband Mike Mora has died at the age of 37.
Mike, a well-known photographer, previously revealed that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer in October 2021.
Reps for the Milkshake singer confirmed the news in a brief statement shared with E! News:
“Sadly, it’s true that Mike Mora has passed away. We would ask all to respect Kelis and her family’s privacy as of right now. Thank you.”
Tributes have been pouring in online from friends and fans.
Actor Evan Ross was among the first to pay tribute to Mora, sharing an emotional Instagram post with a black and white photo of his late friend.
“We lost a brother yesterday,” he wrote. “We will truly miss you Mike. Thinking of some of the great times we all spent together.”
Musician Dallas Austin also shared an image of Mora with the caption: “All I can say is that we LOVE YOU DEARLY Mikey.”

Kelis has yet to publicly comment on her husband’s passing.
Mike and Kelis got married in 2014 and share a one-year-old daughter and six-year-old son.
In October 2021, Mike announced his diagnosis with a series of posts on Instagram. He explained that he had been experiencing “the worst pain” in his stomach and back, and had lost his appetite.
At the time, he wrote:
“I thought the whole time that I just had an ulcer. With no idea what was about to come my way…
“You always see people post about how life is too short. How you should reach out to those you love no matter where life has taken you. It is the truth. Don’t take your time here, your time with friends, family, for granted.
“S**t can be over just like that. I never thought this could happen to me.”
