Katy Perry is set to travel to space as part of an all-female mission.
The singer will travel on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin rocket, according to the aerospace engineering company.
Katy Perry, 40, will be joined by former Nasa scientist Aisha Bowe, research scientist Amanda Nguyen, film producer Kerianne Flynn, as well as TV hosts Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez.
According to Sky News, Perry said that she hopes her decision will inspire others to 'reach for the stars, literally and figuratively'.
The New Shepard programme has flown 52 people above the Karman line thus far.
The Karman line is the internationally recognised boundary of space.
Perry's mission will feature the first all-female crew since Valentina Tereshkova travelled to space in 1963.
The flight will launch in the spring.
