The peeping Tom who captured photographs of a topless Duchess of Cambridge is an Irishman who is based in the south of France according to a French paparazzo.

Pascal Rostain told The Sun claims that the images taken by an Irish photographer who captured a private moment between Kate and William as they holidayed in Provence earlier this month.

The French paparazzo said: “In our small paparazzi world, we know who it is but obviously don’t say anything.

“I can just say that it is an Irish national who lives in the south of France.”

Willam and Kate were in Asia when news of the photographs hit the headlines

The topless photographs of the future Queen appeared in French magazine Closer last week.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are now taking legal action against the European publications that printed the images.

Rostain said that the pictures were worth a fortune to the paparazzo who managed to snap them.

“It can be €1,000 for every working day plus expenses and a few thousand euro for the snaps.”

The Irish paparazzo responsible for snapping the photos could make millions

Rostain also suggested that if the photos had not been commissioned by Closer, the celebrity magazine could have paid up to €400,000 for the exclusive snaps.

Meanwhile, a French court ordered Closer magazine to hand over the pictures as criminal investigations begin.
