Kate Middleton and the late Princess Diana have a lot in common, both marrying into the royal family at a young age. However, it seems as though the experiences of the two women have been very different. According to a royal insider, Kate Middleton has "the love and support of the royal family", something Princess Diana always wanted. Amazon Prime documentary The Diana Story, states that Kate has had such a successful journey as royal, thanks to the support that "Diana never had". Speaking in the documentary, Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former butler, said: “Kate’s a very lucky woman because she has something which Diana never had." “With that strength behind her, she can go the distance. She can go all the way. She doesn’t need anything else.” Paul opened up about the differences between Diana's marriage and Kate's, saying that Charles and Diana's was a "romantic wedding that was right for the time." He added: “Fast forward a few years and watch Kate and William getting married in Westminster Abbey – it was a different affair, it was more personal.” Interestingly, the documentary also revealed something else that Kate has, that Princess Diana always wanted: In reference to the gorgeous Princess Charlotte, Paul said: “Diana always wanted a girl.”
