Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld is known for his…eh…strong views, but we imagine his latest opinion won’t go down too well with a lot of people out there.
The Daily Mail reports that the designer has some issues with the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, Pippa Middleton – apparently Pippa’s face offends him.
The designer was commenting on Pippa’s style when he admitted that he didn’t like her face, only the rear view of her. Harsh, right? But then again, would you expect anything less from Mr Lagerfeld? This is the same guy who called Adele fat a few months ago…
Anyway, according to The Sun, the designer said the following: “Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties.”
“On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don’t like the sister’s face. She should only show her back,” he added, speaking about Pippa.
We’re just waiting for the intense public backlash to begin…
And while Karl has issues with Pippa’s face, it seems that he simply adores her sister. At the launch of his new pop-up beauty boutique in London last week, the designer was practically gushing about how much he loves Kate.
“She knows pretty well what to wear and what to do. She has a divine silhouette so she can wear anything,” he said, defending Kate against fashion critics who stated that Kate’s style was ‘boring.’
“She has a sense of what’s right for the moment because you can not dress like a mad woman in those situations,” he added.
And he even had some praise for Victoria Beckham…
“That body, after four children. There are not so many who have a body like that. She is very disciplined,” he said.
What do you think ladies? Should Karl be a bit more careful about expressing his opinions? Do you think Pippa deserved such a harsh comment from the designer?
