Justin Bieber isn’t exactly Hollywood flavour of the month, and hasn’t been for many months after a string of run-ins with the law and his recent bust-up with Orlando Bloom.
However, one Russian man has the 20-year-old Canadian pop star to thank for saving his life.
Igor Vorozhbitsyn was engaging in a spot of fishing at his favourite spot in north Russia’s Yakutia Republic when he was attacked by a deadly brown bear.
The bear surprised the 42-year-old as he was walking to the popular fishing point and thought his life was over until his mobile phone rang and his Justin Bieber ringtone sounded scaring the animal off.
Yes, the Russian is a ‘belieber’, or at least his granddaughter is and has hit song ‘Baby’ to thank for saving him from being ravaged.
“Sometimes a sharp shock can stop an angry bear in its tracks and that ringtone would be a very unexpected sound for a bear,” Igor explained to the Austrian Times.
“I had parked my car and was walking towards the spot I’d marked out when there was a tremendous impact on my back and the bear was on top of me.”
“I couldn’t believe my luck when the phone went off and he fled,” he continued.
“I know that sort of ringtone isn’t to everyone’s taste but my granddaughter loaded it onto my phone for a joke”.
Igor suffered sever cuts and bruises from the incident, however is recovering well.
