Johnny Depp dropped into an art exhibition in the UK this week and spent a five figure sum on a nude portrait of pregnant Kate Middleton.
The actor, who is engaged his The Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard, attended the opening of street artist Pegasus' gallery in Islington and immediately snapped up a portrait of the Duchess, who is currently expecting her second child.
Depp reportedly also bought a £25,000 portrait of Queen Elizabeth and commissioned Pegasus to do a second nude painting of Middleton to be entitled Crowned and feature a crown lying on her bare bump.
The elusive American artist came to prominence when he spray-painted a version of Crowned on a wall in North London.
"I knew Johnny was coming and wanted the two Kate Middleton works. I didn't even tell my wife and daughters, but I was expecting him. He was extremely charming and immediately bought the painting and put down an offer for the second one. Everything at the opening of Pegasus' gallery sold within 15 minutes. He can't fulfil his orders fast enough at the moment," said the artist's manager to the Metro.
