John Legend’s new role is pretty intense and we are very excited

Is there anything John Legend can't do?

He's released some iconic tracks. He made La La Land bearable. He's also married to Chrissy Teigen which makes him one half of the greatest couple on this earth. All of the above though are arguably nothing compared to the role John is going to be taking on next year - Jesus Christ. Yep, literal Jesus. Well, in the form of Jesus Christ Superstar.  Same difference. It has indeed just been announced that John is set to play the title character (Jesus, in case you've forgotten) in NBC's live staging of the production. The musical will be broadcast on Easter Sunday and John is, of course, only delighted. In a statement, he explained what being involved in the project means to him.

“It’s such a powerful, meaningful musical and I’m humbled to be part of this performance. "We’ve already formed an incredible team, and, as we finish casting, I’m certain we will put together some of the greatest talents around to do this work justice.”
