Jimmy Tarbuck Arrested In Connection With Child Sex Abuse Claim

The comedian is the latest star to be questioned by police.

Comedian Jimmy Tarbuck has been arrested in connection with a historic child abuse allegation.

The 73-year-old star, whose identity had not been revealed until the Daily Mail named him this week, was apparently questioned by North Yorkshire Police last month.

Jimmy Tarbuck has been in the spotlight for over 50 years.

He was arrested at his home and released on bail pending further inquiries according to reports. The incident allegedly stems back to the late 1970s.

A spokesman for the police said: “North Yorkshire Police can confirm that a 73-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a historic child sex abuse investigation in Harrogate.”

They added: “Following questioning, he was released on police bail pending further inquiries. The complaint relates to an incident that occurred in the late 1970s when the victim was a young boy.”

Tarbuck made his name in television shows including Winner Takes All and Full Swing. He was awarded an OBE by the Queen for his services to entertainment and charity.
