Jim Carrey’s latest red carpet interview is very, very strange

Sorry, what?

Olivia Hayes

We’re a bit taken aback by this.

We’ve seen our fair share of celebrity interviews gone wrong, but this one really stands at the top of the list.

On the red carpet of Harper’s Bazaar’s Icons party, the E! crew noticed Jim Carrey and popped over interview him.

Standard enough as he was obviously invited – and if celebs want to ditch the media, they usually enter the venue by the back entrance.

However, when E! approached Jim, he started bouncing around the place, making it hard for the interviewer to even get a question in.

But then, it just starts to turn really strange, as Jim turns and says, “There’s no meaning to any of this,” before trailing off on a tangent.

“There’s no meaning to any of this. So I wanted to find the most meaningless thing that I could come to and join and here I am.”

E!’s presenter, Catt, then says that the party is to celebrate icons and what they bring to this world, before Jim interrupts and quips, “I don’t believe in icons.

He continued: “I don’t believe in personalities. I believe that peace lies beyond personalities, beyond invention and disguise, beyond the red ‘S’ you wear on your chest, that makes bullets bounce off.”

Before the interview comes to an end, Catt awkwardly comments on his outfit, before he says, “I didn’t get dressed up. There is no me. There’s just things happening.”

The entire interview really has to be seen to be believed…
