Jennifer Lawrence has come in for a bit of criticism after someone overheard her making a comment referencing rape at an industry party at Cannes Film Festival over the weekend.
According to reports this morning the actress was at the seemingly private gathering, hosted by Vanity Fair and Armani, when she spotted Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón.
She allegedly started screaming before walking over to him and saying: “I broke out my rape scream for you.”
Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, the comment was overheard by someone and is attracting a great deal of criticism.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton wrote on his website: “We know you’re always open and honest in interviews, but COME ON, a rape joke?!?
“We’re sure she thought that what was said at the party was private, but even still, that’s no excuse for a rape joke!! They’re not funny, ever”.
As yet, there has been no apology from J-Law, who is currently filming for the second part of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, or her PR team.
