‘Jay-Z Had The Right To Hit Solange’ – Whoopi Goldberg Airs Controversial Views On Infamous Met Gala Row

The actress claimed that a man has "every right" to strike back if provoked by a woman.

Actress Whoopi Goldberg has waded into the row between Jay-Z and Solange Knowles, saying that Beyoncé’s husband had the right to hit back at the singer during the infamous altercation.

While the 99 Problems rapper remained restrained while Solange attacked him in an elevator after the Met Ball Gala, Whoopi told The View that a man has “every right” to hit a woman in some circumstances.

“I think Solange was quite ready for him to do whatever he was going to do. This is the thing: If anybody hits you, you have the right – I know that many people are raised in a different way – but if a woman hits you, to me, you have the right to hit her back,” she said.

Barbara Walters then inquired if Goldberg believed that even if it was OK for a man to hit a woman, to which Goldberg replied that “if I slap a man, he has every right to slap me back”.
