Jack Fincham has said he was betrayed by “fake friends” following his Love Island win.

The reality star won the ITV dating show in 2018 with ex-girlfriend Dani Dyer, and recently admitted that he “fell for the hype” after leaving the villa.

Jack opened up about his experience with fame since appearing on the show, and how it has affected his mental health.

Speaking on the Under The Surface podcast with the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), Jack said: “When I came off Love Island, my phone did not stop ringing.

“I thought I had every mate under the sun. But now I’ve realised as the years have gone on, they weren’t even my mates.

“I’ll admit it now, I feel gutted that I probably didn’t think about my mates who were actually there for me and when they were trying to tell me stuff, even family, saying ‘don’t hang around with that person’, ‘don’t do this’, ‘don’t do that’.”

He went on to say how he was constantly negative towards them, and eventually, the relationships broke down.

He added: “Then the relationships broke down when they were just saying what I know now. They saw it happening, but I didn’t see it coming.

“I’ll be the first to admit now, it’s hard not to get caught up in all the hype.”

After winning the series with Dani, the two split after only nine months together in April 2019.

Jack now opens up more about his mental health, sharing updates with his almost two million Instagram followers.
