Nothing gets us more excited than a good old-fashioned banter exchange between celebrities on Twitter… especially when we know they mightn’t have been especially friendly beforehand.
One of Britney Spears’ quick-witted fans spotted the uncanny likeness between Russell’s Les Mis character’s get-up and Britney’s Toxic song uniform.
Britney enjoyed the side-by-side comparison and retweeted the post, tweeting Russell at the same time saying:
“LOL. Cute hat @RussellCrowe You wear it well. Maybe we should perform a Toxic/Work Song mashup ;)”
Complete with cheeky winky face…
Russell, clicking on his latest Twitter notification with excitement, must have thought “creepy old man” was the right approach to take with his reply:
“@britneyspears Hello young lady. Such a lovely colour on you.”
Ah, Russell… you ruined it.
