Wow, we can honestly say that this is one celebrity split we weren’t expecting but it’s official: Britney Spears has split from her fiancé Jason Trawick.
The Daily Mail reports that the pair had apparently been sleeping in separate bedrooms for months and that their relationship had lost its spark and become more of a friendship than anything else.
“Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends,” said Britney in an official statement.
“As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever,” Jason said in the statement.
According to Jeff Raymond, a representative for Britney, the split was completely mutual.
“As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends,” Mr Raymond said.

We all know that Jason was actually Britney’s manager, but now, according to reports, Britney has switched management and the pair are now severing ties in their business relationship as well. Jason has resigned as Britney’s co-conservator, but Britney’s dad, Jamie Spears, will remain as her main conservator.
RadarOnline is reporting that Jason has already moved out of the home that the couple shared together.
This news comes a mere day after Britney confirmed that she would be quitting her role as a judge on the US version of the X-Factor.
“I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio,” said Britney, speaking about her decision to quit the reality TV talent show.
“Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most,” she added.
