Sam Faiers has spoken about living with Crohn’s disease which she was diagnosed with in February of this year.

Speaking to Now magazine, the reality TV star said that the diagnosis “put things in perspective”.

The 23-year-old said: “I’m naturally quite a curvy girl, so before Celebrity Big Brother I trained really hard because I was desperate to go from a size 10 to an 8.

“‘But when I got ill and dropped more weight, it put things in perspective. All my stressing about being skinny didn’t matter – what’s important is that your healthy, happy and feeling good in your clothes”.

Former The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) star Sam continued: “I’ll never diet again. I’ll never drive myself as mad as I did because when I was thin I didn’t feel sexy.”

Sam has recently reunited with her former boyfriend and TOWIE co-star Joey Essex, and has explained that he was the reason behind her decision to quit the reality show.

Speaking to The Mirror last month, Sam said: “Being ill was the wake-up call to do what makes me happy – that’s being with Joey without the cameras.

“I have a really exciting year ahead and am looking to push myself and get out of my comfort zone. I will really miss working with everyone on TOWIE, but I’ll still see them all the time”.
