Is it true? Is Kate Middleton expecting a little baby girl? According to reports this morning, the Duchess of Cambridge dropped a hint that she may be having a daughter after a slip of the tongue yesterday.
The Irish Sun reports that during a visit to Grimsby, Kate said “Thank you, I will take that for my d… for my baby,” when a well-wisher gave her a teddy bear.
However, after the slip, Kate insisted that she did not know the sex of her baby with Prince William.
“As she handed it over I distinctly heard Kate say, ‘Thank you, I will take that for my d…’ Then she stopped and corrected herself to say, ‘…for my baby,’” said Sandra Cook, who was standing next to the woman who gave Kate the white bear.
“When she shook hands with me I said, ‘You nearly slipped up there, you were going to say daughter, weren’t you?’ She smiled and said, ‘What do you mean? We don’t know yet.’ I teased her and said, ‘Oh I think you do’ – to which, still smiling, she replied, ‘We’re not telling,’” Ms Cook added.
Kate was all smiles during her visit yesterday
Ms Cook had waited for two hours in freezing fog to see the Duchess as she made a solo visit to Grimsby. Her hubby, Prince William, was unable to accompany her because he was busy with RAF duties.
“It was worth every cold minute. This lady giving her a teddy seemed to take her by surprise. Everyone else was giving flowers,” said Ms Cook.
“I’m certain it’s a girl. She wouldn’t have said the D-word otherwise. After she said it, she was a little flustered,” added Ms Cook.
According to reports, onlookers laughed and started to congratulate Kate, who smiled and insisted she didn’t know if she was having a boy or a girl.
Kate’s slip of the tongue followed a similiar one last year, when she told schoolkids the name of her and William’s dog, Lupo, during an official visit in Oxford.
“I asked her if the baby was kicking. She said, ‘Yes it is, very much so,’” said Bobbie Brown.
Kate also recieved an insight into what life will be like when she becomes a mother, when a three-year-old boy started picking his nose as he was talking to her.
