Jodie Foster’s Golden Globes speech will be remembered for a lot of reasons but it has also ignited rumours that actor Mel Gibson is the biological father of her two sons, Charles (14) and Kit (12).
The Silence of the Lambs star, who was accepting the Cecil B DeMille award last weekend included Gibson in her speech. She said: “Mel Gibson: you know you saved me too.”
Gibson sat at Foster’s table at the Golden Globes on Sunday.
This statement, directed at the father-of-eight who was sitting at Foster’s table during the awards, has fuelled rumours that there could be more to their friendship.
The pair, who met on the set of Maverick back in 1994, have always been close with the actress expressing a desire to work with him again.
The two starred in Maverick together and have been friends ever since.
And it seems there could be something to the whispers as an amateur genealogist told the New York Post: “The kids look like him but blonder.”
Foster has never revealed the identity of her sons’ father but is said to have told the boys recently that they will find out when they turn twenty-one. (In other words, we won’t know for at least another seven years!)
