An orange alert weather warning was in place last night with good cause, judging by the photos circulating this morning.
There was snow in both Mayo and parts of Galway yesterday evening.
This morning then sees major flooding in Galway city and the River Shannon has burst its banks, leaving Limerick in disarray.
