Brian McFadden has said that he’d absolutely love to be a judge on the UK version of the X-Factor – if only someone would ask him to do it.

The Irish Sun reports that the former Westlife star admitted that he’d be thrilled to fill one of the coveted judge’s seat but that he “can’t see that happening any day soon.”

Brian, who was axed from Australia’s Got Talent last year, is now attempting to re-launch his career in the UK and he’s bringing his new wifey, Vogue Williams, along with him as he supports Ronan Keating on a tour of the UK.

“He’s supported me right from the beginning of my career all the way through until now, you know, in work and in my personal life he’s always been very supportive,” said Brian, speaking about Ronan.

Brian also admitted that he still loves performing Westlife songs on stage, despite the fact that he quit the band over eight years ago.

“I’m singing a couple of Westlife songs, I’m doing a couple of my own songs that were already hits and the rest are all songs that are classics,” said Brian.

“So at least I can’t get abuse for having crap songs,” he added.

Struggling to find success as a solo artist, Brian confessed that he absence of his former bandmates is a major loss “especially when you’re in the UK and you’re singing in the venues that we sang in ourselves.”

“A couple of times you close your eyes and you open your eyes and think, ‘Where’s the boys gone?’” said Brian.

“But it was nice and, you know, I’ve really enjoyed kind of attacking the songs again and trying to make them my own as well. You know, ‘cos they’re such beautiful songs,” he added.

Brian wasn’t invited to join Westlife as they embarked on a special farewell tour last summer, but despite the snub he’s hoping that he might be allowed to take part in a reunion at some point n the future.

“…I would love it if they ever did get back together, of course I would love to be a part of that. There’s two different Westlifes, there was the Westlife I was in for six years and then there’s the Westlife they were in as a four-piece for even years,” said Brian.

“It’s not until it’s all over, you know, those hectic  years when you’re at your peak and it was just manic all the time, you know, you don’t appreciate it… It isn’t until it’s over that you appreciate it,” he added.

Brian is planning on making the UK his new home for the next year and is considering releasing a book which documents the highs and lows of his life.

Do you think the original Westlife should reunite?
