She’s known for her blatantly honest songs that showcase the heartache she suffered at the hands of her ex-boyfriends but Taylor Swift has revealed that “it’s fair game” when it comes to break-up tracks.
Speaking to InStyle UK magazine, Taylor said that writing about your ex-loves is a deal that goes both ways and that she wouldn’t complain if one of her exes penned a less-than-flattering song about her (yeah, right!).
“If I’m gonna write songs about my exes they can write songs about me,” said Taylor.
“That’s how it works. I’m not gonna complain about it. I’m not gonna sit there and say, ‘I’m the only one who can write songs about this relationship.’ It’s fair game,” she added.
We wonder if Taylor will still feel the same if her former flame, Harry Styles, decides to release a track about what really happened within their whirlwind relationship and just why they decided to break up so suddenly?
