Robbie Williams is due to play a sell-out concern, but apparently he’s already preparing to make a speedy getaway, just in case his pregnant wife goes into labour while he’s on stage.
The Take That star has said that he has a jet on standby in case he receives a phone call telling him to get to the hospital as quickly as possible.
“I don’t think she’s going to come today, I think it’s going to be more likely next week,” said Robbie, speaking recently.
“But there’s a plane on standby and if I get that phone call I’ve got to go,” he added.
Over the past few weeks, Robbie has made no secret of the fact that he’s absolutely terrified about becoming a daddy for the first time when his wife, Ayda Field, gives birth.
“It’s so alien and also I’ve lived a very selfish life for a very long time where I haven’t had to do anything for myself,” said Robbie, speaking to The Sun newspaper.
“I still don’t know how to do anything for myself and there’s a little person who’s going to appear within the week maybe and I’m crapping it because if I don’t know how to look after me, how can I look after her?” he added.
Robbie doesn’t want to miss anything when his wife goes into labour.
Robbie also revealed that himself and Ayda had “cried at scans” and “teared up at commercials” when they found out that they were going to become parents.
The singer said he was worried that he wouldn’t be able to have children at all, after he found out that his body lacks the essential male hormone testosterone. At present, Robbie injects the hormone into his backside to keep his body in check.
“It’s just something I had, I take care of and is cool,” said Robbie.
“It’s part of the story, it’s part of why I’ve been, where I’ve been, where I am,” he added.
Robbie and Ayda’s daughter is expected to come into the world on September 26th and the couple are keeping tight-lipped about what they’re planning on naming her. What do you think she’ll be called?
