There’s an old saying that goes along the lines of ‘if you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.’ We bet Katie Price is wishing she’d stuck to that rule because now the former glamour model is back-peddling at the speed of light after receiving severe criticism for her comments about Kelly Brook’s weight.
The Sunday Mirror reports that Katie sparked a major public outcry after she branded Kelly Brook (who is a size 10) “a heifer.”
Katie made the mean digs about Kelly after she saw pictures of the model from a photo shoot in Miami. In the pictures, Kelly is wearing a green bikini in order to promote a high street bikini range.
Outspoken Katie said that she suspected Kelly was comfort eating following her split from Thom Evans.
Kelly is a healthy and normal size 10
Initially, Katie tried to defend herself saying: “I love the fact that people comment on my opinions! Everyone has nasty opinions about me. I haven’t said anything untrue, just my observation.”
However, following a flood of tweets in support of Kelly, Katie had a change of heart and started claiming that her comments were taken out of context.
“I don’t think girls read my comments right. I never slagged off bigger girls. My sister is bigger and curvy women are sexy and men prefer that,” said Katie.
“I was saying she looks bigger than normal which she does but she is still sunning. If I put on weight people say I’m pregnant. I can’t win,” she added.
Hmm… the last time we checked being a size ten was perfectly normal and healthy and didn’t mean you were a ‘bigger’ woman. It’s worth noting that the average size of a woman is a size 14 (also perfectly healthy and normal).
If we were you Katie, we’d seriously stop talking right about now.
