The One Show presenter Alex Jones has confirmed that she is engaged.
The television star’s exciting news had been teased by co-host Chris Evans earlier in the day on his radio show and during last night’s broadcast, the 37-year-old admitted that she is to marry her boyfriend Charlie Thompson.
Beaming with happiness, the Welsh star showed off her sparkler and thanked viewers for the outpouring of congratulations after the news emerged.
Jones had previously opened up about the difficulties facing their relationship, saying that their future was in doubt due to Charlie’s wish to return home to his native New Zealand.
“It’s a big thing to ask him to give up his family and home for good. Obviously, we have a mortgage together now, which is a big commitment, but the issue of New Zealand is still there. I know it’s silly – and in the grand scheme of things, it’s a tiny problem to have – but yeah, it wasn’t in the game plan.”
