The Vampire Diaries’ Steven R McQueen is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Alexandra Silva.
The actor, who played Elena’s brother Jeremy on the supernatural CW drama, announced the happy news this week with a sweet Instagram post.
He posted a photo of himself holding hands and sharing a kiss with his fiancée which he simply captioned:
“She said yes.”

The model later shared the same image to her own social media account.
She wrote alongside it:
“My best friend, love of my life…YES, yes, yes a million times over.”

She also posted a close-up view of the ring in a short video of herself holding The Vampire Diaries star’s hand.
The pair were flooded with well wishes from fans follow their happy announcement.

The couple first began dating more than a year ago, before making their relationship public on Instagram in late 2016.
The actor shared a snap of them on the ski slopes in December that year, which he captioned with a ski emoji.

The couple have since gone on to document a lot of their relationship on social media.
They have shared photos from a number road trips they’ve taken together, as well as their time spent building homes in Nicaragua.

The Vampire Diaries ran from September 2009 until March 2017, airing more than 150 episodes over eight seasons.
