The murmurings and mutterings of disbelief from the X Factor contestants as The Xtra Factor’s Caroline and Olly read out the individual live final winners said enough.
Christopher Maloney won the talent competition every single week until just three weeks to the final… and his fellow contestants just couldn’t believe it.
One camera shot caught Rylan shaking his head in disgust, it seemed Christopher wasn’t the favourite guy in the house.
And now that the show is over, the bitchiness and back-biting has begun.
The first to speak up was Carolynne Poole, the country and western singer voted off first this year. She told The Irish Sun about how the Scouser ruined her Saturday night with vile insults.
Speaking at the after-show party following James Arthur’s win on Sunday, she said: “After ten weeks the mask came off, it was like he couldn’t keep it up any more.
“He came in and basically, because I didn’t say hi and kiss his a**e, he called me a c***.
Everyone heard it, even Jahmene, who was upset.
“I said to him, ‘Did you just call me a c***?’. He denied it but I heard him.”
Tongues began wagging when there was no sign of Christopher at the live final on Sunday night.
Carolynne Poole left the competition in the first week…
Carolynne said: “We were rehearsing the group song and he wouldn’t even stand next to me.
“He came over and looked me up and down and said, ‘You need to do something with that.’”
She was also appalled at his treatment of staff on the show.
She said: “When you get onto X Factor you go into this bubble where everything is done for you.
“There are people that sort everything for you, get whatever you need, basically wipe your a**e for you.
“These people work so bloody hard to make sure you’re okay and you can’t treat them like this. He was always like, ‘Do this, do that, get me this’. It’s just not how you treat people.”
X Factor contestant Kye Sones agreed that everything Carolynne had said was true.
He said: “He’s had a mask on for ten weeks and it has well and truly slipped off and shown him for who he is.”

Christopher has hit back at Carolynne on Twitter claiming she was making up her ordeal to get “headlines”.
He also insisted he had to pull out of the group performance as he had a sore throat plus a doctor’s note.
But Kye said Christopher had been desperate to get back on to the show.
He said: “I was just about to go on stage and the researcher showed me his phone. Chris was ringing it non-stop.”
Christopher is travelling to Tenerife this week to get away from it all. His cousin Melissa told the press she believed he’d been stitched up.
She said she thought Christopher’s chances were doomed because Simon Cowell hadn’t wanted him in the final.
She added: “But he’ll always be a star in our eyes.”
To add salt to the wounds, rumour has it Christopher is going to be axed from the X Factor tour.
