When it burst on to the scene in 2011, Bridesmaids did in fact change a lot of things. For the first time, women were actually being represented as real women on the big screen and in a brilliantly funny way. Here are eleven reasons why we love Kristen Wiig, Rose Byrne, Rebel Wilson, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy.
1. They’re all hilarious.
Well, we love these ladies but it was really Bridesmaids that brought them to us and we’re pretty grateful for that. An excellent script, some brilliant characters and just general brilliance, the film made many “Best Of” lists for 2011.

One of the best horrors we have seen in a very long time.

4. Anchorman 2.
Kristen Wiig’s appearance as Steve Carrell’s love interest a stroke of genius. How she didn’t laugh out loud is beyond us.
5. Saturday Night Live.
All of it.
6. Bad Neighbours.
Rose Byrne certainly put her comedic skills to good use… again.
7. Improv.
Melissa McCarthy is just genius.
8. These drinking games.
We would play these. We actually would.
