Her name has barely been out of the papers in the last few months, perhaps more than she would have liked, but no matter, we still love Nigella Lawson just the same. Here are the eleven reasons we love this beautiful lady.
1. Have you seen her?
Just… stunning.
2. What a cook!
Curry in a hurry? No problem for Nigella.
3. Her sense of humour.
She’s just not afraid to make fun of herself. We love a woman who doesn’t take herself too seriously!
4. Her many, many books!
We only own all of them.
5. She is FIERCE!
When Beyonce was talking about Sasha Fierce, she actually meant Nigella Lawson. This may not actually be entirely true, but we hope it is.
6. That scrap with Trinnie Woodall.
Trinnie made this controversial comment on her 50th birthday, obviously a reference to that infamous photo of Nigella and Saatchi: ‘It’s great that, at 50, life can still grab you by the throat and shake you up.” Nigella responded on Twitter with a recipe for “Slut’s Spaghetti”.
7. That tuxedo shot.
Gorgeous.
8. Wholesome and hearty cooking!
Nigella doesn’t believe in any of that low fat stuff. None of it!
“Yes, there is balance, but it is in the most nutritionally unacceptable way possible: instead of banishing or even reducing these demons of the age – sugar, salt and saturated fat – we choose to have them in bold and loud harmony; they are all present and incorrect.”
9. This feminist rant.
Damn straight Nigella.
“Women of my generation were keen – rightly – not to be tied to the stove, but the ramifications of this were that they felt a sense of dread in the kitchen. How can this be good for anyone? I also feel that to denigrate any activity because it has traditionally been associated with the female sphere is in itself anti-feminist.”
10. She overcame.
In the face of everything that was going on in her life, her marriage break-up, the testimonies in court, Nigella still got up every morning and went out looking like this.
11. These old pictures of her.
She looks like a French model!!!
