This morning Rory Mc Ilroy broke the news that he had called time on his engagement with tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki.
McIlroy announced the split via his communications consultancy, stating: “The problem is mine. The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realise that I wasn’t ready for all the marriage entails
“I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we’ve had. I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting”.
The statement caused a media frenzy and Mc Ilroy’s decision to end the couple’s relationship divided opinions on social media.
Many condemned the golfer’s antics and expressed sympathy towards 23-year-old Wozniacki, while others supported his actions and believed that he had done the right thing ending it before the pair had wed.
One person that was on the fence about the situation entirely was Aaron, the punderful gentleman that left this witty ditty underneath an article posted on the RTÉ News website.
We’ve never witnessed such a display of low-brow, fantastic puns in one reader’s comment, so our visors are off to him.
Look who popped on to show his support for Aaron’s effort, the main man himself.
Well played, Aaron. Well played.
