Former X Factor judge Tulisa has finally met her long-lost brother, after a five year search.
The 24-year-old met up with Neil Jones on Sunday and the pair instantly hit it off, chatting for more than six hours with the two of them promising to make up for the years they spent apart.
Neil, 35, only discovered he had a sister when he was 17, but he had no idea his sibling was a famous singer.
“I’m so happy to finally meet my brother. This has been a very important weekend for my family,” Tulisa told the Daily Mirror.
Tulisa and Neil share a father Plato Contostavlos. He is thought to be delighted the pair have made contact.
Neil, who lives in Northampton, first made contact with his estranged father. He then decided to contact Tulisa and the pair went for a coffee.
A source said: “Naturally Neil was stunned when he realised he was related to someone whose records he bought unknowingly.
“Tulisa was incredibly nervous but the meeting went really well and Neil has been opened into the family with open arms.”
Neil and Tulisa “hit it off” at their first meeting.
News of Tulisa’s half-brother was first reported in 2011 when it emerged Plato had fathered a child as a schoolboy.
Tulisa lived with her father and his ex-wife Melanie Vondrau until they broke up when she was 16.
In her autobiography Against All Odds: From Street Life to Chart Life, Tulisa tells how, aged 15, she joined an “aggressive gang of chicks out to cause mayhem”.
“We would go around starting on people for no reason, having big fights with groups of girls from other areas. I remember there being a lot of weapons about too,” she wrote.
The singer is currently dating Newcastle footballer Danny Simpson.
