Today’s the day! It’s the 13th of September, what else could that mean…?
Only Irish One Direction member Niall Horan’s birthday of course!
The Mullingar boy is celebrating his 19th birthday today in his the Westmeath town, proving he is still a home-bird at heart.
Niall recently returned from LA where One Direction looked dapper at the VMAs last week as they scooped three awards for their year’s hard work. Although, here at Her.ie, we’re wondering why the One D stylist always dresses Niall so casually compared to the other suited-up boys…?
One fifth of the most famous boy band on the planet, our Irish star Niall decided to celebrate his birthday with a twist… by raising money for charity.
Irish website Pigsback.com suffered a crash last week as they hosted Horan’s birthday bash tickets for sale. Niall tweeted about the ticket sales and thousands of fans bombarded the site immediately in a surge the website’s server had never seen before.
The birthday boy was selling tickets for a golf outing and a ball tonight, all in the aid of charity. The teen is hosting the private event in the Mullingar Park hotel.
The Irish weather has been as reliable as ever, with Niall tweeting this morning: “look out the window..see rain! perfect weather for golf….naaaatttt”
The star is clearly excited as he celebrates the anniversary of his birth as he tweeted earlier: “i just woke up! im 19 wohoooo! thank you all soo much for the birthday wishes and stuff! love u”
He also tweeted: “gona havta ask my mother again..but i think i was born around this time of the morning..so like 8:15/ 8:30am”
All the funds raised from the event will be divided between Irish Autism Action charity and a homeless organisation called Temporary Emergency Accommodation Mullingar (T.E.A.M.).
He said: “I am delighted and honoured to be in the fortunate position of being able to give back to my community.
“The plan for my birthday, which is on the 13th of September, is to raise as much money as possible for IAA and T.E.A.M. and at the same time ensuring that both events are successful and fun for everyone involved”, he continued.
Well now, what a gentleman…
