Today may be Mother’s Day, but it’s also a day of celebrity wedding news and engagements it would seem. Earlier we told you all the goss on the wedding of the year and now we can reveal that Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote has announced her engagement.
RTE.ie reports that while she may be cheating on the cobbles, in real life the 22-year-old is head over heels for her childhood sweetheart and is absolutely thrilled that he’s asked her to tie the knot.
According to reports, the couple have been friends since childhood and they’ve been in a relationship for the past seven years. They got engaged a few weeks ago and managed to keep things hush-hush until now that is.

“They got engaged a few weeks ago and are very happy. They have no immediate plans to get married,” said a spokesperson for Coronation Street.
Known only as ‘John,’ Georgia recently explained that her other half likes to keep out of the limelight.
“He copes well with my fame. He is protective when we go out, he keeps an eye out for troublemakers and helps me avoid attention,” said Georgia.
“We went to school together, so he’s grown up with me doing television. He’s not one for red carpets. If I was going somewhere and it was VIP, he’d ask, ‘Why can’t you go in the normal bit?’ He’s low-key,” she added.
The couple have no plans to get married soon, they just want to enjoy being engaged
While Georgia is super loved-up in real life, on Coronation Street she’s currently in the middle of a cheating storyline and things are set to get messy for her character, Katy Armstrong, in the soap this week (don’t worry, we won’t give you any spoilers!).
